Transfer from Balice Airport to Krakow City Centre
Getting from Balice airport to Krakow’s city centre is inexpensive and quick as the distance is only approx 15km. There are Three easy alternatives.
Bus transfer to Krakow city centre
A regular bus service (No 192) operates from just outside of the airport’s main terminal direct to Krakow’s city centre. Come out of the terminal and look right and the bus stop is next to the round about on the entrance road to the airport.
You are able to buy a ticket directly from the driver (‘prosze bilety normalny’) which will cost 2.5pln. You should stamp your ticket on the bus and also make sure you have an additional ticket for luggage if you have a large bag. The bus takes about 25-30 mins and partially driver around the ‘planty’ (the park surrounding the old city walls) if you wish to get off in the centre. click here to view timetable for the 192 bus

High speed rail link (shuttle) to Krakow city centre
In spring 2005 a new high speed rail link was opened from Balice international airport and krakow mainline station which takes just 15 mins, making Balice the first airport in Poland to have a direct rail link to the city centre.
From the airport terminal building take the free shuttle bus, which is synchronized with the trains, or walk the 200 m to the train terminal.
The trains operate from approx 4.24 in the morning to 00.15 the next day and the ticket price is only 4 pln.

Taxi from Balice airport to Krakow city centre.
You will find many taxis lined up directly infront of you when you exit the main terminal at Balice. Taxis are still relatively inexpensive in Krakow and the 15 min journey to the Old town will cost you approx 40-45 pln (approx 10-12 Euros). The tariff after 10.00 pm or on Sundays is slightly more. We recommend Barbican taxis for good value and reliability. Be sure to agree with the taxi driver to use his meter before entering the taxi so as not to be ripped off.
